    Logan Canyon Trails

I'll be hangin' out in the area (Bear Lake) Friday-Monday. How are the trails? I bet the river trail is okay and my boy (7) really liked that one last year. He'll like it better this year because he has a proper mtn bike. Are any other trails open and clear? I might be with him too, so it needs to be fairly easy and I most likely wont have a shuttle.

Green Canyon is excellent right now! Nice beginner level singeltrack that is very close to Logan. http://www.utahmountainbiking.com/tr...reencanyon.htm

Farther up the canyon, I know that the Mud Flats loop is rideable as well as the Jardine Juniper trail. None of these trails are shuttleable. Juniper is definitely the toughest climb.

You could also try Stump Hollow (right across from the Beaver Mountain turnoff) but I have not heard about the trail conditions on that one. http://www.utahmountainbiking.com/tr...tumphollow.htm

Beaver Creek is a nice scenic Jeep Trail that is family friendly and high up the canyon (again, not sure of rideability at this point in the year though). http://www.utahmountainbiking.com/tr...eavercreek.htm

Post your schedule and we'll see if we can't get a group ride together.

    Awesome!

I'll be on vacation so I wont have a "schedule" per se. Which trail would be best for a 7 year old? We wont make the whole trail on any of these, except maybe Beaver Creek, but single track = good. So if one has a good few miles to start with that are easy or something. This is why I thought of the river trail. Thanks again.

Hmmmm. I'm personally kind of doubtful about any trail that tops out at or above 8000 feet at this point. That precludes Sink Hollow (Beaver Creek) and Stump Hollow for another few weeks. Jardine is a must do but not only tops out right at 8000 feet, it would be a handful for a 7 year old.

What about the Temple Fork Sawmill? It's only about 4 miles each way without a ton of climbing for the first few. The last mile has a few good climbs and one set of rock steps though. The steps get me every other time but I generally clean the rest.

Sunday's OK but Saturday might be tough. I plan on volunteering for some trail work.
seen all good people turn their heads each day so satisfied I'm on my way...

I may be up at Bear Lake this weekend too, maybe we can hit one of these trails, I've ridden nothing up there.

Jardine is good to go all the way to the top, but it would be a very tough climb for a 7 year old (I would think). I would think that you may be able to ride the lower parts of Stump Hollow before the climbing starts in earnest. Not sure as to the conditions. If you don't mind a bit of a drive from Bear Lake, Green Canyon is probably your best bet (besides the River Trail of course...).
