    Calf Creek Falls

As part of my trip down to Escalante we hiked to Calf Creek Falls. I had been testing out my new waterproof point and shoot in the canyons but was stoked to take my "real" camera to the falls. Luckily we hit it with pretty good light and I was able to get some good shots.

Some flowers were budding but more in the lower elevations. The cottonwoods along the river near Calf Creek barely had leaves on them. I was afraid the Cottonwoods by the falls wouldn't have leaves, but luckily they did. Spring came slowly this year but it did finally come. Apcronnelly, it was evening, maybe 5 ish? Something like that. Summit I was using my Nikkon D80 with a Nikkor 18-55 f3.5 lens. I pretty much never carry a tripod so none of the shutter speeds are below 1/15th since I've learned thats about as low as I can go and not get blur from hand shake.

With a kneel and elbow on my knee I can get a pretty crisp shot at 1/8 (were I start to see noticeable blur) but it usually take 3 or 4 shot to get a keeper.
We should get together to shoot some photos and do a little hiking.
