720 HD is nice
Great angle. The filmer rarely is in the frame, so this works great.

One of my favorite rivers. Looks like the flow was at a nice level too. Thanks for sharing.

Flow was low, 3,800 cfs, but it was good enough for kids to get splashed. We did have a 7 year old swim . She fell out of the boat on that nasty hole on the river right after the Warm Springs turn. I hit that hole by mistake, my wife and kids flew in the air as my boat dropped into 8 foot hole. Luckily for me, I was squared off with the hole and was on my sticks to push through and get out with out swimmers.
A boat below was able to snag the swimmer within 15 seconds, but she was already shivering from cold

Bummer about the swimmer. Glad everything was alright. We used to call that "Suprise" as in watch out for that little suprise right after Warm Springs. Did the exact same thing to my wife one time

middlefork, do you have any other trips planned?

Not this year. With the difficulty of drawing permits, and the loss of most of the group I used to run with, I have let my equipement and boat get a little disfunctional. Hard to justify the dollars for a trip every 2 or 3 years. I used to run alot, with my best year 5 week long trips.
Now I just get my kicks reading your trip reports.

Funny! I am running Virgin river this weekend. There are plenty of spaces if you want to get your feet wet. Not my trip, a friend of mine putting it together.

Not much free time right now but thanks for the invite. Looking forward to more video and pictures.
What section is runable on the Virgin in a raft? Never really thought that river had enough flow to float a 15' boat.

I am taking my little boat (14' canoe), but my friend said at 1k cfs you could take a raft down. I will check it out and let you know.
