River House Ruins/San Juan River Flow

We may try to check out the River House Ruins this weekend, but reading the clmib-utah beta it says that if the river (i am assuming San Juan) is flowing high to choose another adventure. Any ideas on if the river flow will be a problem this weekend? Those seem like pretty cool ruins and we would like to check it out if possible.

I can't imagine the river(yes San Juan) ever being a problem here. The river's flow is mostly controlled by a dam. The road getting there can be bad if muddy, requiring 4 wheel drive. Don't miss the huge panel where Butler wash empties into the San Juan. It is on this same road. Theres also a great panel on the other side of Butler wash, but it requires a hike in from Butler.

The river Climb-Utah.com refers to is the one running through Comb Wash. You must cross any river running down Comb Wash numerous times. I have clarified exactly what river on the website, thanks for the heads up.

We were there over spring break. We had to cross the wash a bunch of times. We have a full size 4*4 and didn't have any problems. Great place to visit. Here's a couplde of pics from our visit.

We were down over Easter Weekend. On Friday morning the stream flowing through Comb Wash was a raging torrent.... only an idiot would have tried driving across it. We went back on Sunday and the stream was flowing mildly and was no problem at all for my full-size 4x4 truck. I get the feeling that the stream is seldom a problem, but I've seen it flow strong enough that it would wash a truck down stream if you tried to cross.

I'd be curious to know.... does the stream always have water or does it dry up later in the year?

It was dry last November when I headed down there.
