Price to Nine Mile Canyon
I've tried twice this year to ride my ATV directly from my house in Price to Nine Mile Canyon, but the first time there was too much snow and the second time there was too much mud. I tried again today and was finally successful, riding 4.5 hours and covering 67 miles round trip. I only went to the first major rock art panel in Nine Mile due to time constraints, but I would have had enough fuel to go quite a bit farther. The ride was a good mix of paved, gravel, and dirt roads, and best of all, hardly any traffic.

The end of the pavement just past Soldier Creek Mine
Higher up, Soldier Creek still had some snow and ice

Nice! One day, I need to get out into your AO. Seems you have almost unlimited hiking, biking and riding opportunity out there in Price.

Sweet T.R., Dennis! I'm with you, Jim - I'd like to get down to Price and have Dennis take me on this same journey. Looks like a great time!
On a separate note, do you happen to know how to make arrangements to camp at the Nine Mile Ranch, Dennis?"All roads, all codes!"

I would love to show you around. Although Carbon County isn't my favorite place to ride--the Swell is ten times better.
Nine Mile Ranch isn't in any of the local phone books, but I did find the following contact info here:
