What a story! Four hours of fear is a small price to pay for such an amazing life experience. Gotta love Alaska.

No, that's just a "quarter" (looks like a hindquarter) of the moose that they put in the snow to cool. Those guys were lucky to have Ken as their responding officer. Great guy and one of the best "brownshirts" out there. Glad everything worked out ok.
This is a bad time of the year for moose. They're really cranky right now and there's nothing to eat. Once they get agitated, it can take moose a while to "cool off".
BTW, to respond to Cirrus, they wouldn't have been allowed to keep some of the moose meat. It's considered a DLP kill (defense of life and/or property) and thus the meat and all parts are considered state property.
