Apparently this guy doesn't like the suggestion of being spam.

After getting 2 PMs from him, I wrote back suggesting that posting on here for reasons other than getting people to go to his fundraisers might make him a little more credible on the site. You can read the response.

Well, the thing is, he just posted at the wrong time, right? Most of the time, this would just be a non-issue, except for the fact that a moderator chose to exercise his privileges in a less than egalitarian manner. (In the opinion of everyone except him, apparently.)

    Hey, info@utahwildernesssafety: It ain't personal!
(Although you seem to be making it personal, attacking uintahiker like that.)

We're going through some forum soul searching on what is and isn't spam, and how much you need to post and be part of the community before you start posting up advertisements. Read up on it here:

The posting seemed harmless and applicable to the site. Not sure why everyone's getting their panties in a bunch.

Now, had it been for Chubby gay porn, Donuts, Cigars or something like that...

Fund raising is cool, and I'm all for it, but I'd call it spam if the individual joined only to post info on a $150 a head training. They no introduction of any sort, nevermind listing any kind of credentials... and then they become hostile at the suggestion that their post is spam...

To quote a recent post; perhaps info@utahwildernesssafety didn't really think it through. You ought to think about what YOU are doing before you act (A pretty basic wilderness safety skill)

Not even a real name posted on the profile, then you go throwing stones at the first person who askes who you are, seriouslywhat kind of welcome do you expect? Wrecking ball of [liability and] disregard indeed. Sheesh.

How does Chubby gay porn, Donuts, Cigars not fit in with Bogley?
