    March 20th, 2010 @ 10:14pm

WASATCH COUNTY -- Rescue crews pulled a snowmobiler from a sinkhole Saturday afternoon in the Cold Springs/Iron Mine area of Wasatch County.

Police say the 45-year-old man was snowmobiling with another person when he fell into the hole around 12:45 p.m. The other rider called for help, claiming the victim had back injuries.

Members of the Wasatch County Search and Rescue team reached the injured man by snowmobile and found him stuck 50 feet under the surface. They were able to pull him to safety and he was flown to University Hospital for treatment.

His condition was unknown as of Saturday night.

50 feet! It makes you think he was going slow to fall straight down it. Going fast, I'd assume he'd plow right into the other bank, or jump it completely.
