Thread: Show us YOUR ride:

I took my ride for a spin today. 34 degrees! Not bad when you get warmed up!

I just bought some new tread and will have to post of a close up when I get them installed...along with my new rear shock.

Maybe we should head south for some warmer weather riding. I am itching to go for a ride also. New rear shock, grips and lockons, and a new raceface middle ring, chainring bolts, and a chain. My middle ring had 2 cracks in it and the holes were ovaled. I told the guy at the shop that I never use the small ring and that I prefer to just grind the middle ring. I will most likely do the same to this new ring. The new bikes have a 10 gear cassette and 2 rings up front. I wouldn't mind trying this new gear configuration.

Two wheels are better than four, keep the rubber side down.

Those tires looked like brandnew tiogas. Are those 3/4" hexhead sheet metal screws ? Do you run a smaller tire inside of the studded tires ? How do they work in the loose powdery snow ?

Actually the tires are some I've used for a year and decided I just had to have Maxxis Mobsters. I used 1/2" screws. Drilled through the back side and screwed them in with another gun. Front tire is a 2.3 Tioga - rear is a 2.4 Panaracer FireXC Pro. I taped over the screwheads with duct tape and then used Mr. Tuffy liners and the bigger/thicker tubes. Had to grind the rear screws down a little to keep them from dragging the new frame. $ for a box o screws -$7. Did both tires with one box. BUT, one better be prepared to ride snowpack and ice...loose snow is no problem but deep snow is - it's a bit testy on sidewalk/road.

Gorgeous green! Love that one and the red one similar to it.

Both my bikes are boys. My mountain bike is Ethan and my new baby that is Alexander.

That sure does look like Basin at the top of Needles next to the lodge. I can't wait to suffer up that rocky miserable climb in a few months.

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I - I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference. ~ Frost
