I recently bought this to replace my 13 year old hardtail. It's a Superfly 9, 100mm, all XT. 27.5 lbs on the bike shop scale.
I rode about a dozen different trail bikes in the last two months and this was the winner, hands down. This will handle a majority of my rides...before next spring I'll buy a new squishy for the really rough stuff... probably a Santa Cruz or a Yeti. The end of the world for some...
The foundation of paradise for others.

I hate it that so many pictures do this...right click on the pic and select "view image" and you can see the entirety of it without the stupid scroll bar.

Not a new bike but, just bought a new wheelset for my Trek Superfly hardtail. I've been drooling over these at the shop for the past year and finally pulled the trigger. It came down to these or the Stans Crest which I could have bought for $80 less with my shop employee discount. They are both nearly the same weight at 1580 grams per set. I chose the Bonti's over the Stan's because the Bonti's have a DT Swiss star ratchet drive hub, aero blade spokes and no rider weight limit. The Stan's use a Stan's hub (online reviews of this hub aren't the best) and have a rider weight limit, which I'd be pushing. We sell the Bontrager's at the shop for $1,000 and I paid much less than that. This wheelset is nearly a pound and a half lighter than my old wheels! Crazy! And, it's rotational weight. Mounted them up tubeless without a hitch. So, my bike now comes in at just over 24lbs (with pedals and saddle). Not too bad for an aluminum bike in an XXL size and I'm not riding stupid lite tires. Did my first ride on them last night. I thought I'd feel the difference on the climbs and they did feel a bit faster but not as much as I thought they would. Where I noticed the difference was on the flats and downhill. These things roll crazy fast! I don't know if it's the aero bladed spokes or just new hubs but, man oh man, crazy fast! I also noticed they are much stiffer than my old set and seem more nimble. Anyway, I had my fastest time of the season on my 12 mile lariat loop up AF Canyon. Excited to put some more miles on them!

My ancient (mid 80s?) Schwinn High Sierra that I bought used for 80 bucks. I rebuilt it with a few upgraded components but it's mostly old school all the way. It isn't pretty or sexy but it's a durable workhorse as demonstrated on a recent Seattle to Halifax solo tour... My first bicycle tour.

Just mounted up my Bontrager XXX carbon (shell & rails) saddle and took it for its first test ride. This is Trek's $250 top of the line, most expensive saddle they offer, which I got for FREE (almost makes it worth working at the shop a couple hours a week!)! The saddle, added to an existing Thomsen Masterpiece seatpost, brings my mtn. bike down to just over 23 lbs. The ride was much better than I anticipated it would be. Without much padding I thought the ride would be harsh but, since the carbon is pretty flexy, it really wasn't bad.

Awww yeah, O Town. Still some decent riding on the Bonneville Shoreline Trail, I need to see if I can get up there this weekend. I've been snowboarding 3 times at Snowbasin, it'd be nice to get a bike ride in too.

Just ordered my new road bike! This is my 1st road bike purchase since owning a Schwinn 10 speed when I was a teenager back in the 70's. While still a mtn. biker by heart, I've found myself riding the road more and more in the spring before the high mountain trails open up here in northern Utah. I've just been using my hard-tail mtn. bike, mounted with slicks, for my road riding. Heck, I even did my 1st century on that rig last April. I've loved the more social aspect of road riding (group rides every Saturday). Looking forward to setting STRAVA PR's on my road routes!

I just added a new ride to my garage, normally I build my own bikes but I found this deal too good to pass up on a 2014 Salsa Horsethief. I've only got one ride on it so far but it is nice and stiff and just the right amount of squish.
