Utah State Parks Reservation Office making changes

just saw this on KSL, and passing on the info to you guys. (But great, another hassle to enjoy the outdoors):

"SALT LAKE CITY -- If you plan on spending time in one of Utah's state parks this summer, you'll be jumping through a few extra hoops.

The Utah State Parks Reservation Office has implemented two new polices.

First, park officials will no longer accept cash or checks for advanced reservations.

Second, everyone who wants to use park services is now required to set up a camper profile at the state parks' website, even if you want to use services on a first come, first serve basis."

Cash will still be accepted for payment of fees for walk-in/drive-up visitors as far as I can tell.

This doesn't bother or even inconvenience me. I think the "camper profile" is a great idea. I think these policies may help keep the criminal element at bay for the state parks.

Yeah.... I see your point.... cause criminals are so good about following rules to begin with. I'm sure they would never cause problems without first filling out a camper profile.

I'm just speaking from my own experience. I don't know how many nights my friends and I ruined in our youth. If it weren't for spur of the moment decisions, there's many places that I would have not camped. I guess my reference to criminals was too specific. I believe that peaceful campers in state parks are now less likely to have to put up with loud, abnoxious partiers at the spot next door.
