Bolterguist Down Water Canyon to Red Cliff Campground?

Has anyone ever gone down Bolterguist to water canyon and then continue down Water canyon to Red Cliff campground. On the map it looks a direct route and not very long. Any issues with going that way? Or am I reading the map wrong? Any raps in Water canyon?

Also has anyone been to Yankee Doodle or Bolterguist in the last 1-2 weeks? I'm looking for a report on the water situation in the canyon.

    Thanks for any info.

mucho water & bushwacking in water canyon. I bet the pools close to RC will be tip top full and cold.

Bo & Kurt have hiked from the road to RC.

I did Yankee Doodle two weeks ago. There's a lot of water that can be stemmed over in the first part of the canyon but there are a couple of spots where getting wet is unavoidable. Even the parts that can be stemmed over require pretty tough stemming and the water is definitely expletive-worthy cold.

It's a pretty nice hike, like Shaun says, it is somewhat overgrown in places. There are dozens of mini arches along the way. Pretty straight forward until you near Red Cliffs area. You can by-pass the long hallway swim on Canyon left. Above that, there are a couple spots that could hold significant amounts of water, I have never seen them full, but I would guess they are this year.
The lower section you should be able to avoid water, but if you slip on the rope by-pass, it could be a cold swim.
I wouldn't plan on going anywhere in Southern Utah this Spring with the intentions of staying dry.
