Mt. Blowhard and Cedar Breaks February 12th & 13th
A few of us did a snowshoe trip Friday and Saturday. We went out to the junction of the 14 and 148 just above cedar city Friday morning. We started hiking around noon and wound our way up along the left side to the top of mt. blowhard with some tremendous views into Zion and Cedar Breaks.
We did not spend a great deal of time on the top as it was blowing and already very cold. We checked out the weather stations and then started north and down. We were looking for a semi-flat, sheltered spot to spend the night.
It got down to 9 degrees in my tent so probably a bit colder outside. We sat around till 8 or do but by then it was so cold we got into our tents. Thatbeefcake. BEEFCAKE!
