Heading down to the Big Easy for the Superbowl (party)

Another road trip, this time heading down to New Orleans with my sister who's been visiting for the last 2 weeks. Just can't bear not to be around all my friends & family back home for the Superbowl. Win or lose, should be one hell of a party! Oh.....btw.....I will also be there during Mardi Gras! Can't wait. I need this break!!!!

    GEAUX SAINTS!!

Oh how I love that city....

This upcoming weekend would be an epic time to be down there. Even the 60F weather would feel great.....

    Have fun!

Thanks! It's actually 70 right now and the skies are sunny and clear! This town is already losing its mind and Sunday is still 5 days away! Win or lose, there will be partying going on.

Yeah, but they're all depending on me for a ride home so they let it slide. I did have one of the girls that I work with de-friend me on facebook beacause I spoke ill of the Saints though.
Also, I was at a gas station deep in coonass country last week (Venice, LA) and the guy that I was with said "There's no way that the Saints are going to win the Super Bowl". Everything got really quiet. There were about 3-4 guys wearing over-alls and white rubber boots that were sending us BIG "I'm gonna whip your ass, boy" looks. I don't know if we would have gotten out of there alive but he quickly added "can you believe that Ricky had the nerve to say that to me? Damn Yankee!"
Honestly, I don't really care much about football. I am big stirring up shit though. It's just way too easy down there. I must admit, if I never hear the words "who dat" again, it will be too soon.
Have fun down there Savanna. I'll actually be in Broussard for some training so I'm going to miss the whole thing.

Kinda like being in Pittsburgh and bad-mouthing the Steelers.
It's been so much fun being here with just the level of activity and excitement about it all. Mardi Gras is going to seem dull after all this! There is a parade already scheduled for Tuesday (win or lose) and all schools are going to be closed. Anything for a party or parade, ya know?
Sorry you will miss the festivities.

btw.....I have to agree about the Who Dat thing.....but you didn't hear that from me, ok?! Let's use the other saying "Bless You Boys!"

    Superbowl - N'awlins style

I will post some photos when I get the chance, but can I tell you that this city (New Orleans) has lost its mind??!!! Mardi Gras is not for another 10 days and I think it will pale in comparison to what is going on this weekend. I love the fact that the people can make fun of themselves as well. Going through the Garden District, people have put paper mache pigs with wings on them hanging from the branches and there are a half dozen commercials showing hell freezing over. Win or lose today, the city is closing the schools and holding a Mardi Gras style parade for the Saints team on Tuesday. This day has been a long time coming (more than 40 yrs). Should be one hell of a game today!
