    Seems real...Right?

    Received this email this morning. Seems legit, I mean, who can argue with an american soldier who needs to hide 8 million dollars? He only needs my assistance for a small fee. I HATE this kind of shit.

    YOUR KIND ASSISTANCE
    Mon, January 25, 2010 3:31:49 PMFrom: SGT. JONES JOEY ARMAND <sgtjonesa>Add to Contacts

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    HOW ARE YOU AND YOUR FAMILY? HOPE ALL IS WELL.

    MY NAME IS (SGT) JONES JOEY ARMAND; I AM AN AMERICAN SOLDIER, SERVING IN THE MILITARY WITH THE ARMY?S 3RD INFANTRY DIVISION. WITH A VERY DESPERATE NEED FOR ASSISTANCE, I HAVE SUMMED UP COURAGE TO CONTACT YOU. I FOUND YOUR CONTACT PARTICULARS IN AN ADDRESS JOURNAL.

    I AM SEEKING YOUR KIND ASSISTANCE TO MOVE THE SUM OF($8 MILLION U.S. DOLLARS) EIGHT MILLION UNITED STATES DOLLARS TO YOU IN YOUR COUNTRY, AS FAR AS I CAN BE ASSURED THAT MY SHARE WILL BE SAFE IN YOUR CARE UNTIL I COMPLETE MY SERVICE HERE. SOURCE OF MONEY: SOME MONEY IN VARIOUS CURRENCIES WERE DISCOVERED IN BARRELS AT A FARMHOUSE NEAR ONE OF SADDAM?S OLD PALACES IN TIKRIT-IRAQ DURING A RESCUE OPERATION, AND IT WAS AGREED BY STAFF SPC. DANIEL COLLIER AND I THAT SOME PART OF THIS MONEY BE SHARED AMONG BOTH OF US BEFORE INFORMING ANYBODY ABOUT IT SINCE BOTH OF US SAW THE MONEY FIRST.

    THIS WAS QUITE AN ILLEGAL THING TO DO, BUT I TELL YOU WHAT? NO COMPENSATION CAN MAKE UP FOR THE RISK WE HAVE TAKEN WITH OUR LIVES IN THIS HELL HOLE. OF WHICH MY BROTHER IN-LAW WAS KILLED BY A ROAD SIDE BOMB LAST TIME.YOU WILL FIND THE STORY OF THIS MONEY ON THE WEB ADDRESS BELOW;

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/2988455.stm

    THE ABOVE FIGURE WAS GIVEN TO ME AS MY SHARE, AND TO CONCEAL THIS KIND OF MONEY BECAME A PROBLEM FOR ME, SO WITH THE HELP OF A BRITHISH CONTACT WORKING HERE AND HIS OFFICE ENJOY SOME IMMUNITY, I WAS ABLE TO GET THE PACKAGE OUT TO A SAFE LOCATION ENTIRELY OUT OF TROUBLE SPOT.

    HE DOES NOT KNOW THE REAL CONTENTS OF THE PACKAGE, AND BELIEVES THAT IT BELONGS TO A BRITHISH/AMERICAN MEDICAL DOCTOR WHO DIED IN A RAID HERE IN IRAQ, AND BEFORE GIVING UP, TRUSTED ME TO HAND OVER THE PACKAGE TO HIS FAMILY. I HAVE NOW FOUND A VERY SECURED WAY OF GETTING THE PACKAGE OUT OF IRAQ TO YOUR COUNTRY FOR YOU TO PICK UP, AND I WILL DISCUSS THIS WITH YOU WHEN I AM SURE THAT YOU ARE WILLING TO ASSIST ME, AND I BELIEVE THAT MY MONEY WILL BE WELL SECURED IN YOUR HAND BECAUSE YOU HAVE FEAR OF GOD. I WANT YOU TO TELL ME HOW MUCH YOU WILL TAKE FROM THIS MONEY FOR THE ASSISTANCE YOU WILL GIVE TO ME. ONE PASSIONATE APPEAL I WILL MAKE TO YOU IS NOT TO DISCUSS THIS MATTER WITH ANYBODY, SHOULD YOU HAVE REASONS TO REJECT THIS OFFER, PLEASE AND PLEASE DESTROY THIS MESSAGE AS ANY LEAKAGE OF THIS INFORMATION WILL BE TOO BAD FOR US SOLDIER?S HERE IN IRAQ.I DO NOT KNOW HOW LONG WE WILL REMAIN HERE, AND I HAVE BEEN SHOT, WOUNDED AND SURVIVED TWO SUICIDE BOMB ATTACKS BY! THE SPECIAL GRACE OF GOD, THIS AND OTHER REASONS I WILL MENTION LATER HAS PROMPTED ME TO REACH OUT FOR HELP,I HONESTLY WANT THIS MATTER TO BE RESOLVED IMMEDIATELY, PLEASE CONTACT ME AS SOON AS POSSIBLE VIA E-MAIL WHICH IS MY ONLY WAY OF COMMUNICATION

    GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY.

    SGT. JONES JOEY ARMAND.

    That man is apparently a U.S. Soldier and deserves your respect... and maybe your money. I'd do it.

    Seems legit to me. US Soldiers always refer to the U.S. as "Your Country" and reference BBC news articles.

    only WAY funnier.

    If you've never read this story of the FUNNIEST scambaiter story ever, you should.

    http://www.419eater.com/html/SkeletonCoast/index.html

    Short of the long, this guy convinces the scam artists that the money is floating off the ocean in a waterproof vault, with a GPS transmitter in it, and the scammers are going all over trying to find scuba gear or boats and whatever else it will take to find it. It is HILARIOUS.

    Armand!!!! How the hell you been you old fagalow? Man I have not talked to you for years!!! I think the last time was when we embarked on the Bukakke mission in Japan right? Man how time flies. So tell me about this secret mission and what the details are? You know I got your back and will do anything for you. I say we split the money 50/50. But hell, if you need more than that to cover your expenses then I would happy just getting a cool million. I do have some concerns though.

    1. Why are you talking like a fag?
    2. Why are you using all CAPS and yelling at me like an asshole?
    3. Why don't you know how to spell British?
    4. What's this "god bless you" crap? Aren't you an atheist?

    TAKE CARE AND SEE YOU LATER!!
    Haha sorry couldn't help yelling at you back.

    Any ideas welcome. The last time I tried this they caught on too fast and dropped me.

    I replied back with the following response;

    Sgt. Jones Armand,
    This sounds like a good plan. I'd love to help. I think it might be easier than you thought. I'm Sergeant First Class William James. I'm the team leader for EOD (Explosive Ordinance Disposal) here in Bravo company in Baghdad. I was sorry to hear of your two encounters with suicide bombers. I know how you feel. I spend a great deal of time each week disposing of IED's here in Iraq.

    In any case I'm set to ship back to the states in less than two weeks. As you know military personnel are not subject to search and customs laws so I think we have a pretty good chance of getting your money into the states. I'm more than willing to hold your money and help you until you can arrive in the states. I've heard that the 3rd infantry division (your division) is set to ship back a few battalions soon. So perhaps we can make arrangements sooner than you thought!

    Let me know how I can be of further assistance and how you're thinking of compensating me for my time.
    Thanks,
    Sgt. William James

    As some of you may have noticed, I watched The Hurt Locker this past weekend and drew some inspiration from the film. Lets see what happens!

    So I got a reply this morning;

    [i]Attn: Sgt. William James,

    Top of the day to you. I acknowledge your response based on my proposition and I really appreciate your concern regarding this. I'm taking time to explain this to you so that you can have a clear understanding about this.

    Please, note that I have limited time to be on the internet as the security situation here in Iraq has worsen and our commander has told us to always be on the alert so there is a limited time for communication but during my shift, I will always try to be on the internet to communicate with you. Please note that our entire squad has access to only one telephone line and that line will not be convenient for this deal at most times. My family would have been in the best place to keep this money for me but because I would not welcome too many query which will arise to knowing every details of achieving such an amount, which I am avoiding, and it's my absolute reason why I needed a person outside of my home.

    I have set aside 20% as my offer for your assistance approximately work it out yourself to really understand the total sum of 20% from whole sum,ok?I want you to understand that this issue is a gilt-edge transaction So you don

    ask him to tell you how much your cut is. Mabey he can't keep track of how much money he originally told you that he had. On top of everything else you already have planned.
