X-Country
Went for my first cross-country skiing adventure after work yesterday. I live about 3 minutes south of AF Canyon where I have a couple of groomed trails to choose from up there. I did two laps of Little Mill Campground, about 8 miles or so I'm told. I had plenty of light when I started and only had to put the Petzl on for the last leg back to the Jeep. What a great workout! I liked how it worked the upper body nearly as much as the legs. I'm hoping to go a couple of times during the week after work and on Saturday's, too.

Correction- 4 miles, not 8. Little Mill Campground is 1 mile up and 1 mile back. I measured the distance tonight when I went again. I am surprised at how sore I am today. I went up later in the evening tonight. It was quite eerie after it got so dark. I did take my pepper spray tonight but don't know that it would do any good against a big cat.

Are you skating or classic-ing??

I'm doing the classic, touring style/setup. I may jump on the skating bandwagon after I get some more experience under my belt. I've never really ski'd in my entire life.
