Stickpic: camera attachment for you trekking poles
This might be something of interest for all of those hikers with trekking poles. It is called the Stickpic. You attach your camera to it and then to the end of your pole so you can take pictures or videos of yourself while on the move, etc. I am waiting for mine to show up in the mail. I ordered it after hearing rave reviews about it. If your trekking pole is not listed, Rod will send you a guage to get the size, and as listed on the website, if you return the guage you get $2.00 off your order. At $11.95 with free shipping, this is already a deal.

Check out several video reviews of it:

My stepmother is a Pole (and loves to hike) , but she - with most other Poles - likes to see "Pole" capitalized. I suggest "trekking Poles" should be used in the future.

nice. REI also sells one that I purchased recently. it works as a pocket tripod that also straps onto a trekking pole. it was $15 or so.
called "ultrapod" or "mightypod" or something like that. superhelpful gadget.
