It is very dramatic until you notice the plastic holds she's climbing on.

He works at IME in SLC. Not the god, but, the guide. For the photographer, which is Dennis Turville. Dennis had some slow mo shots of Nancy's fall that were pretty neat. She really took that whipper, although the scene was pretty fake (and at Dead Horse Point).

Chatted with her belayer the other day...(Doug Heinrich). I think he may have been fairly embarrassed by the whole Dead Horse Point footage. Also did some notable free and aid routes in Zion.

Bunch of intersting things about that movie. Kurt Bestor did the music. Royce Trappier (a Zion canyoneer who's "RT" bolt hangers folks run into in Zion) was a location scout. As mentioned above, local long time hard guy climber Merrill Bitter was Dennis Turville's guide. Turville did a number of first descents in Zion in canyons and wrote a very sought after guidebook for climbing in the Wasatch (Desparate Grace).

Werner Braun (pretty famous valley YOSAR climber), Eric Rasmussan (another notable climber) and Walt Shiply (RIP, died in the Merced in Yosemite and had done some pretty wild FA's, some in Zion) rigged.

Bev Johnson, who the film is dedicated to (also RIP from a ski heli crash in the Ruby's which also killed Frank Wells, CEO of Disney) filmed with Mike Hoover, also fairly well known climbers.

Anyhoo, entertaining on a number of fronts. Treasure of the Gods. The IMAX version is much better, especially the look on Nancy's face when she must realize how far she's really going to fall, even if for the stunt.
