If you are ever in St. George, well, technically, the Arizona Strip on a remote mountain called Mt. Trumbull (about 2 hours south of St. George), there is a "lake" on it called Death Valley Lake, and it has one of the coolest trees I've seen that you can climb!
So if you are ever down there, and have a 4x4 vehicle, and 5-hrs roundtrip, a full gas-tank (no services whatsoever out there) hit me up and I'll give you the coordinates to it, or a google earth file.
Also, to make the trip worthwhile, about 2 miles east from the tree, there are some ice lava tubes that go down over 100+ feet and sprawl around. (BTW - the Arizona Strip is one THE driest places, most remote places, in all of the continental US.)
The #2 photo is my buddy Steve in the tree, and the #1 photo is me in a comparison shot. We found this area during our Firefighting season for the BLM down there.
