March 2006, I'd been to Utah once, and was planning on returning in a couple of months. Was looking for info on where to go. Got great advice from Scott Patterson and stefan. Just kept coming back...

Fourtycal got me started on here and I got hooked right soon
I think he and I got the first UUTAH hats going down in Vegas during INTERBIKE. I still have both of mine
HEY - maybe we need a new hat/shirt to comemorate this monentous event!

12/8/05. Beech was doing some recruiting from UtahMountainBiking...got a personal message there to come check out UUTAH. Thought it was really a great sight as I was new to SLC. Have gotten away from regular posting and debate (particularly on my beloved Political forum!!), but like TallSteve, I look through almost daily to see what's up, and I recommend the sight to people all the time.
Thanks for the job well done, guys!!Two roads diverged in a wood, and I - I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference. ~ Frost

Five years. My, they grow so fast!
Richard led me here from a Yahoo "Canyonlands" group which is now defunct, I think.
I was thinking today how I'dnot visited Booglie in way too long. Been real busy with all kinds of good things, including a move to the mountains of West Virginia. A much better place.
Utah fulltime is still a few years out, but WV provided us a nicer home for the time than the nasty little town we lived in back in VA. That place made me mean... like no one here knew that!

How did I miss this thread? Once again I am the last one to the party
Back in the olden days of 2005 I used to be a big follower of the Yahoo canyons group. Problem was that I did a lot of hiking and camping in Utah that wouldnt fit the theme of the Canyons egroup. I am pretty sure it was rockgremlin who posted on Canyons group that a friend of his was starting a Utah outdoor blog. I joined up about 3 months after uUtah.com started.
After the whole Canyoneer vs Canyons egroup drama, I started to spend most my time here. I was very happy when the Canyoneer egroup merged with bogley. Mainly because I like Shane better than Tom.
This site was really becoming cool because it included all outdoor activities and not just canyoneering. Which makes sense because outdoor enthusiasts dont limit themselves to just one sport or area of recreation. The name change to Bogley signified that the site, like its contributors, werent limited to one particular geographic region either. Soon we had experts of many diverse outdoor activities all hanging out and sharing their passions, wisdom and most unfortunately their personal opinions.
Seems like peoples different views on politics, the environment, outdoor ethics and religion drove in a wedge making it harder to just enjoy the outdoors. I know that I have done more than my fair share of opinion posts that may have contributed to the forum in a negative way, and for that I am truly sorry. So there was that and Facebook too. Facebook ruined the internet.

Happy Birthday Bogley!
I still feel like a noob here since it hasn't even been a full year. Two words for Bogley: informational & inspirational.
Found it because I was going to the Maze and being new to four-wheeling I was searching for beta on the roads. When I found that the site was full of happy crazy outdoor adventurers of all kinds I was hooked!
My only face-time memories so far are from Bogley Fest '09 at Zion. Best single memory: taking turns taking pictures in the "beam me up" spot in Pine Creek.
I sure hope to have more this year...It is good that warriors such as we meet in the struggle of life... or death. It shall be life. - Ten Bears, "The Outlaw Josie Wales"

Happy B-day, Bogley! I've always loved this site for the great info here, and great people. I want to be a Lifetime Big Shot someday.
Is there some kind of payment plan? I can't sneak out that kind of money, and the better half--well I explained her frugality in the thread I started on where to eat for our anniversary.
Anyway, kudos to those involved in setting this up.
