    Fallen Angel Dirty Devil River

Fallen Angel a Dirty Devil River Slot 11-01-2009

To celebrate Halloween/All Saints/All Souls days we descended the Dirty Devil slot Fallen Angel. Fallen Angel is a lot of fun - it has an easy approach, some nice rappels, a few dicey down climbs, a hike along the Dirty Devil and a scenic climb out. The rappels are close enough to each that we never bagged the rope - just dragged it to the next rappel. There was nothing tight in this dry canyon. We added a few more rocks to the last rappel anchor. It was a hauntingly beautiful day for canyoneering.

    Thanks to Climb-Utah for beta.

Very cool. I keep meaning to do a Halloween dress up ride or something.

FA0144.jpg is a very cool shot!! Is the guy with the blue helmet in the foreground riding a bike?
It's only "science" if it supports the narrative.

That shot was taken at one the dicier downclimbs. Everybody got involved in helping the last guy down who had done a body belay from above. The guy in the blue helmet is straddling a large boulder (off camera) and a ledge below the other climbers.
