Life's journey is not to arrive safely at the Grave in a well preserved body; but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting, ...Holy Shit... What A Ride!

that is a beast. wonder if he got it from the herd thats out to the west of whitehorse?
But if I agreed with you, we would both be wrong.

Nice one! Curious about the head shot in the 2nd pic. Shouldn't you leave the skin on though, if you're going to mount it? Why would you rip all the skin off? Or did he just want the antlers and those are impossible to remove without power tools?
Your safety is not my responsibility.

its called caping it out. he is probably going to do a shoulder mount. you slice the hide from a point between the antlers back along the spine to a point well past the shoulders. then you salt it down in prep for tanning. a wet (or green) cape is pretty heavy, and would be a good load by itself.

alternatively, you can take the cape from the skull and then have the skull bleached. when it's mounted without any hide on it, it's called a european mount.

if all he wanted were the antlers, a bone saw is all it takes. not tough to saw off the top of a skull. power tools would be overkill.
But if I agreed with you, we would both be wrong.
