Appears to be his old roommate and friend, Ethan Putterman.

Theme climbs are kinda fun.

Poodles are People too (without googling, who and where is the "poodle" theme?)

Just some guy's room mate? I guess I was overlowing the percieved great mystery or waiting for a great story about who or what Putterman was. He sure has a lot of route or route features named after him.
