Rescue crews pull man from Baptist Draw

Search and rescue crews pulled an injured man from the Baptist Draw area of Emery County Saturday afternoon.

The 21-year-old Salt Lake City man fell 20 feet, suffering possible broken ankles, said Emery County Sheriff's Lt. Bill Downard. A helicopter dropped repelling gear and crews off in the area south of Interstate 70 after someone called 911 about 4:30 p.m. The deputies reached the man about four hours later and he was flown to University Hospital. The man's name was not released.

Or.... Maybe they just need a permit system..... I hear that really cuts down on rescues.....

Hmmm... been awhile since I did Baptist, but I don't reall remember any downclimbs. Just one 20 to 25 foot rap right in the middle, and then the bigger one that drops you into Chute. Maybe he slipped at the boulder choke in Chute? Wonder what happened?
