My Son Kicked Cancer's Butt!
Announcement (since so many of you, my friends, ask):
We got the official word today. My oldest son, Ryan, is officially in remission! The oncologist is cautious to use the word "cured" but things look good. He had a PET/CT scan last week and we just got results this afternoon.
A brief history: Ryan was diagnosed nearly 2 years ago with Hodgkins Lymphoma and has been through 3 rounds of chemo, 3 rounds of radiation therapy and a bone marrow transplant this past Jan/Feb. It has been quite the ordeal for Ryan and our family.
Ryan can finally get back into college and move on with his life. He will need to have followup PET scans yearly for 5 years and regular checkups but other than that he is good to go!Are we there yet?

That is great news indeed. I have a family member going through chemo right now. Nasty stuff for sure and hard on the family. I hope all continues well for your son's future.

Excellent!!!
I had a close friend that went through the same process with the same result!
My prodding played a large part in talking him into getting the lump on his sternum checked out.
I'm very happy for your son and your family. Great news.Lost On A Hill

congratulations to you, and your son.
When my oldest was 2 months old, he was diagnosed with something I can not spell that required surgery, I still get sick thinking about him laying there in a crib at primaries with an iv stuck in his head. at 16 months he was diagnosed with diabetes, he will be 19 in September and doing pretty well.
Both of those where hard enough, and neither as negative a sentence as cancer. I can not think how bad it would be to get that news, or to lose a child, but I can relate to the joy you must now feel, and the relief as well at the news of remission.
I am happy for your son, and everyone that cares about him.
