[quote]Carol Jacobson, an active community member, owner of Downtown Books and wife of City Council member Terry Carwile, died Wednesday in an accident on the Green River, through Dinosaur National Monument.
The cause of death is currently unknown.
Jacobson, 54, was on the second day of a four-day trip through Lodore Canyon.
According to a news release from Dinosaur National Monument, she went into the river when her raft overturned in the middle of Triplet Falls.
Members of her rafting party discovered that she was unresponsive when they retrieved her from a pool just below the falls.
They conducted CPR for about an hour before a commercial group notified the National Park Service by satellite phone and assisted with transporting Jacobson to Echo Park, where an ambulance was waiting to transport her.
No additional details were available as of Thursday morning.
