I also tried to capture some lightning strikes. It was my first attempt, so I'm not sure how to really do it. But I left with a few decent shots that night.
The shots were taken a couple of hours after the tornado hit the Belfield, ND area

The most fascinating moment in the wilderness in my entire life : at the edge of a thunderstorm at sunset somewhere in an Indian reservation.

Philippe, these shots are simply awesome. Especially the one with the Mammatus clouds looks totally insane.
And the rainbow above the unique Sandstone formation of Blue Canyon - a perfect capture.

    Thank you Richie and Yvonne.

Unfortunately, the big red capped hoodoo on the left has fallen on the floor.

    Hi Philippe,

I read about it, really sad.
Hope to get back to the area again in the further future.

Pretty nice storm over Price this evening. I saw this bad boy coming in from the west and should have gotten more shots of it, but I couldn't find my tripod. I finally found it and drove just outside of town as the storm was overhead, and I only got a few shots in before the downpour hit.

    Summer Monsoon over Escalante

Here is a few pics I took last year when a great summer monsoon hit us. I followed it up to Head of the Rocks near Sheffield Rd.
