Transfer a Zion Permit
My brother in law has a Zion permit next week, a family issue is preventing him from going, is it going to be possible to transfer the permit to another (his brother) in our group? Any advice in making this happen...
Thanks
(I tried to search for this, with no luck, but it seems like this must have been discussed before. If someone can point me to a previous thread that would be very helpful)

To be a bit more accurate with the terminology, it is a reservation that we need to try to change the name on (so that the permit can be picked up).

Call the backcountry desk when they are not busy and ask for direction. Generally things work out ok.

Technically, you are releasing the reservation to the whole world, and you just happen to be first in line to pick up the available spots. If there are EXTRA spots, you might want to release them first by calling the desk.
