Glenwild Loop - report 7/7/09
Even though this trail consistently kicks my butt (like every single trail out there) I love it.
The little climb at the end kills me though, but it's still fun.
We had a good turnout tonight, and a few of us stopped at Cafe Rio after the ride just to make sure we wouldn't benefit from the exercise tonight.
Oh, gotta show off some of my sunburn blisters from boating last week.

Nice photo's- video to come?
I met my goal of riding the whole loop without dropping to the small, front chainring.
Having never done this trail before here's my impressions for what it's worth: The trail was just OK. Not one I would choose to do more than once a year unless I lived right there. Too many nicer trails close by. I expected the initial 3+ mile uphill climb to be longer and was a bit disappointed when the 3 of us hit the top. It was like, that's it? I didn't expect the uphill to be as rocky as it was (I think staying in the middle chainring here actually helped to not spin out on the rocks) and as brutally sun/heat exposed. More shade on the climb would have been nice. This would be a better early morning ride before it gets hot. The downhill run on the backside was fun and made more challenging with all the switchbacks.
I'm glad that I can now say I've done this trail and riding with you guys made it all the better! Are we there yet?

Damn Justin we need to get some sun block for you, nothing like a ride with the shirts and camelback rubbing against that all ride! OUCH!!
Two wheels are better than four, keep the rubber side down.

It was a fun ride! Glad I was there for this! Now if we can just get some of you Ogden boys to exercise once in a while. We could have been done with the trail while it was still crazy hot! Nice photos, sorry about your shoulders/back sombeech. Nudity would eliminate that particular problem.
So, Kid, you think you got what it takes to be a Punch King?

This is specifically why I'm trying to cut back on the Fat Chicks. They slow me down.

Nice video and pics. I liked how you were looking for the little hops in the trail accadacca instead of just merely pedaling it.
