    Idaho Regatta 2009

    The pictures below are....

    1. Ice blessing K-711

    2. K-711 running at 150 mph heading into the first turn slightly in front

    3. Wish I actually had picture 3 as it would show K-711 hitting a second boat and barrel rolling in turn 1.

    4. K-711 being pulled off the bottom of the river and dragged to the ramp.

    5. What K-711 looked like after flipping at over 100 mph.... the driver walked away....

Moral to the story.... never let Ice bless you boat....

    Looks like good fun.........
Probably nicer than getting eaten alive by no-see-ums in the canyons.

back East. They do party hard and the women around the offshore guys were incredible.

Actually they had a lot of work to do on the boat is why its under the canopy. After you sink a boat if you can get it fired back up within the next few hours everything is golden. A lot of times they will sink a boat and have it back up and racing for the second day....

And speaking from experience because I have actually sunk a couple of boats......

The boats have a bunch of flotation in the nose so when they sink the nose sticks out of the water about 3'. They hook on a tow boat and start to pull. If you can get the sunk boat to come up on plane you just pull the boats plug and all the water drains out.

Than you go to work on the motor.

Pull all the spark plugs and turn the motor by hand, drain all the oil (and water) out of the crank and v-drive. put it back together and it should start up. Run it for a bit to get it hot and cook off any remaining water. shout the motor down, drain and replace the fluids a second time and you should be good to go.
