Southern Moto Trip
We took off Thursday night and headed for Moab. We drove all over Thursday night looking for a place to camp. I was surprised to see that many people on a Thursday night! I really think Moab needs to add MORE camping. Unbelievable! We ended up camping just below (although I didn't know in the pitch black) Castleton Tower.
Friday we drove out to Mexican Hat and over past Lake Powell. Then it was off to St. George for the night and a soak in the pool at Double Moo's parents place. In the morning we shot up 1-15 straight home before the rain started. I got home at 12:30 and actually got my lawn mowed before the rain. SCORE!
What a great trip!

awesome trip! I need to get a trip together. I can't ride my cruiser on the dirt though. How was your bottom afterwards? Are those BMW's pretty comfy?
And what are you listening to in the second to last pic?The man thong is wrong.

Yeah, the BMWs are pretty comfy - not in a Gold Wing/Barcolounger sort of way - more of a upright sporty feel. I've put in many 600+ mile back to back days... even did an IronButt ride with Acca a few years ago (over 1000 miles in under 24 hrs). As much as it is about the bike it's about how and who you ride with. Being in sync with your partners is crucial to a good ride. Pay attention to the little things like when to fuel up, when to take a break, adjusting your seating position to give sore muscles a rest, what and when you eat, etc... Too many riders and you'll never get in sync - avoid parades!
Riding similar bikes also helps with comfort and distance as you are in similar situations - low on fuel, sore ass, etc... Your buddy on the Gold Wing is less sympathetic to your Cruiser bruising than your Star riding buddy. Nothing's worse than waiting on your friends over and over on a ride... unless it's you they are waiting on!
And don't forget your Cobra Helmet... It's shear awesomeness will get you through a lot on the road...

I was listening to Gwen Stefani on Pandora. Yep, the beemers are truly incredible bikes.
That super snake helmet added 10 hp to Moo's ride. I had a hard time keeping up and all the girls started waving at him. WTF man.

A little clarification...
Though the Cobra helmet no doubt possesses mystical powers related to added horse power, attracting women folks, etc... It was in fact the only available street helmet we could locate in Moab after my shield hardware failed.
Though it pains me to relinquish those powers... It is for sale! Only to the right buyer of course... someone capable of using all this power for good, not for personal gain... or to get laid....
