Desert rat tries snowshoes? hehe

Wow! Snowshoeing is tough! I thought deep sand was harsh...
wimp wimp hehe I will never cry about slogging through sand again...
um yeah right! Those nice folks up in Vancouver invited me up there for a snowshoe trek up to a mtn lake with a glacier! wow!

So, anyone in the lowlands down here ever snowshoe? I believe the Canadians actually bronze their baby snowshoes instead of booties. hehe
I can't believe how much they know about shnow. corn snow? whuts dat?
cornices? snow caves? They know how to traverse all kinds of snow and conditions. Amazing, but most nobable? Nice, wonderful people who showed me a time of my life!!

so, fellow desert rats, Chaparral dwellers, ridge runners, slickrock
spiders, and slot canyoneers, if you ever get a chance,
head up north to our compadres in SLC or even in British Columbia
and get a real lesson on how to walk all over again. whew!

glad you had a good time. I love snowshoeing. The best part I think is how quiet and peaceful it is. Only the sound of you crunching on the snow. Good times.

Glad you had a good trip, Jerry! I had no idea you were coming. Well, not true - I knew that you would be coming up at some point, but didn't know when! (I don't read Club Tread in winter/spring - not a skier, rarely snowshoe, and not interested in low altitude tree hikes.) I'm just on my way over to read your TRs there...
