Actually.... just looking back through my pics whatever-it-is is not in Ballroom Cave, but in the ruins up the side canyon just before Ballroom... not that it matters, I just want to know what it is.

I could only guess, but I'd say a firing oven.

    It is called a "child"
They can be used for chores, homework, and bring lots of joy to the adult members of the family.

    Just funnin'
Has to be some kinda storage unit since it looks like it was originally sealed?
Or.... a timeout cubicle used for an unruly child?

On a more serious note, great to share these things with your children.
My son is skeeert of bugs and won't go along...hehe

The seat part in the front is the most confusing. I was thinking grain storage maybe? Doubt it would hold water and too small to sleep in.

Like you said, it's not in Ballroom Cave. It is opposite Target Ruin. My vote would be storage.

I also think it's an oven of a sort. My old man used a similar design to smoke eel. Except it wasn't made of mudd

Gosh that's soo easy. It's dried mud.
Seriously my guess would be a storage sist or some type or granary.

At first I was thinking some type of kiln, but I don't see any black from smoke or fire. But it sure does resemble a mondern kiln.

It looks like a grainery to me.. I have never come across a Kiln that wasn't close to the source of what was being fired.. Why carry mud up the face of a mountain if you can do it down near the river

I don't think it's a granary. Its built in the middle of a large open space under a large alcove. I wish I had of taken a few more pictures to establish the structure.

Looking more it looks like a small house and steps but i could be wrong, it might be one of those things that you never find out like the millsite ruin or whatever it is

I kinda looks like some type of cistern. I wonder if the roof used to drip at that location?
