Alex's connections shone down upon me once again as he scored some spots on the Yampa River in Colorado for last week. We were on the river for 5 days, with 25 of us. It was without incident, things went great.
Out of the 5 days, we only saw another group of people on the 4th and 5th day.
Wednesday - drive and camp at the launch
Thursday - raft to Ponderosa campground
Friday - raft to Harding's Hole campground, do a cool day hike to an overlook
Saturday - short hike up to a cool cave, Warm Springs rapid, raft to Box Elder camp (maybe Jones Hole, I forget), Campaoke singing along to iPod
Sunday - raft and take a day hike at Echo Boat Ramp to a sweet crack in the rock & petroglyphs, raft again to Island Park camp
Monday - raft to the take out, drive home
Hold on to yer shorts, here's a bunch of video and pictures from the trip....

Thanks everybody, it was awesome. I've got to get around to labeling those photos, maybe tonight. Seeing the confluence of the Green and Yampa was cool.

That's my truck actually, but if you can get access to a boat, you should join Alex this weekend on Westwater, should be raging.
Your photos are awesome and getting me more and more excited about getting on the river. This is our first trip on the Yampa and was wondering if you could help us out. We put in on the 19th of June for 4 nights. Could you suggest some side hikes for us? The last I looked the photos weren't labeled so wondering if you can help out. Thanks.
We didn't do many hikes. Harding Hole has a nice hike to the top of the cliff. Then across the river from the camp site is a nice hike to the cave. Other than that, we stopped at the creek by the hatchery and some of the guys walked up to the creek. We didn't do the 4 mile hike to the trout hatchery.
