to get there, go to snowbasin parking lot number two. then in the northwest corner of the parking lot you will see a gate across a dirt road. this is the road to the old maples camp ground..take off and head north on this trial, you will go down a hill then up again on the other side of this little valley.
at the top of the hill you will see a single track..follow it up as it kinda of goes in northwest direction. it will lead you to a small burm and a trail marker that tells you that you are on the ogden overlook trail..those that have been around a while call it the cold water overlook.
the cold water trail you are probably thinking of is the one in north ogden..yea that is a tough trail to ride..this one, its a keeper!
Not thinking of the one in N. Ogden, thinking of the exact same trail, there is an area north that follows the power poles and that is a B. I will be there tonight, I plan on riding up maples from the top of wheeler, I will tool around up there and hit the basin, loopoing down on greens and hitting art nord on the way down.

Two wheels are better than four, keep the rubber side down.

Yesterday Rooster's sponsered a ride up there. I was asked to park up at Snowbasin instead of Artnord. I started at 8:30 and my ride was from Maples Campground down to Artnord up to Green Pond then they went down the other arm of the trail at Green Pond that connects back to the Maples trail. I biked past my car (mistake) and followed the Maples trail back over to the Green Pond trail and back down to Artnord finished at 1:00 PM. I AM DEAD TODAY!!

That last section of Maples up to Green Pond trail I lost my climbing legs. I sure hope they find their way back home. I crossed a little creek on the side of the ski hill and could not peddal up anymore. Walked that last section up then it was all down hill after that. Bummed a ride back to my car.

They had food for us at the finish. Yummmy... but no beer!! I love Rooster's beer. I take that back they had Rootbeer... teases.

No pictures I didn't have time to stop and take pictures. Besides the group I was riding with I didn't know any of them, didn't think they would appreciate random photos of them posted on the net.

The best part is this group rides every Sunday so hoping they will invite me to ride with them. They were fun!

I was riding when that group of people was riding out of controll? I thought they might be drunk! and I did hear one guy say he had 5 yager shots and did two keg stands!! Too funny and maybee that was the night before and the reason he was dying! one guy fell off his bike when he saw me and I laughed so hard I almost went pee in my pans!

That was not the group I was riding with! Don't know who they were. The group I was riding with were very good riders. I had a hell of time keeping up with them on the downhill. Did ok keeping up with them on the uphill until my legs gave out.

You didn't happen to be the guy I passed on my way down from Maples and then saw ya latter at Green Pond where the trail splits and you can pick to go down to Artnord or over to Maples... And if it was you, you took the trail to Artnord?

    great write-ups....thanks

we have been up Wheelers and Icebox a couple times in the last few weeks......it is in great shape
Friday we also went partway up Middle Fork after Icebox........the first part was a little torn up from horses

yeah, Coldwater is one of the coolest rides
I used to be concerned about my apathy, but now I don't care anymore.

Rode Green Pond to Maples yesterday. It was a muddy mess! Didn't feel good staying on the trail because it was getting torn up. We ended up bushwhacking through an old overgrown service road that popped out right below Green Pond parking lot. Hopefully the trail dries out soon!
May your waters be swift and pure, may your presentation be perfect, and of course, let there be trout.
