Another Day, Another Trail....Lenny And Carl. Vernal
Made it out to try a new trail today. Lenny And Carl, it's in the same area as Flying Homer. This one starts out east from the same TH as Flying Homer. It is 7.84 miles and has plenty of climbing, plenty of short steep rollers. As with all the trails here in Vernal it flows excellent. It does have a few soft spots but nothing that can't be handled.
Also, there are a few spots that require some good trail finding techniques. The biggest one i had problems with was about 2.5 miles after your first descent where it connects with it's first two-track, the singletrack veers naturally to the right with the two-track with rocks along the trail to to guide that way. But, the trail actually continues to the left on the two-track road for about 1/2 mile or so and then back to singletrack action. Anyway this is another excellent trail and as with all the trails here can be connected with other trails to make for much longer rides. http://picasaweb.google.com/jfeiro3/LennyAndCarl#Life's journey is not to arrive safely at the Grave in a well preserved body; but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting, ...Holy Shit... What A Ride!
