    Farnsworth canyon

Took a trip down to Farnsworth canyon in the swell. We had an awesome time in the slot and I had my first experience repelling down the 200 foot drop through Jug Handle Arch. Here's some pics

aw there you go! nice pics and TR.

If the weather holds out I am going to take my kids there to hike the lower end of the canyon this weekend. That short narrow section in the reef is pretty awesome.

Just for fun I ran "Jug Handle" through the National Arch and Bridge database and received 17 hits.

How did that first anchor look? I put that in a few years ago, drilled angles I think, and was thinking of going back and removing it as I'm not so sure it is safe anymore. I didn't think anyone actually did this route!!!

    And the second anchor?

And Coyote Gulch, Devils Garden, San Rafael Swell, and Colorado National Monument to name a few. \

Anyway, February 2008 we went up Farnsworth and down Old Woman. Here's a full trip album:

Farsworth was very pleasant, but the water in Old Woman was freakin' cold:

I was looking around up there two years ago and I didn't find them. But it was getting dark so maybe I just didn't see them.

Nice TR! I haven't done hardly anything this year, and your pictures have helped to inspire me.

The anchors looked great. Used new webbing and we all got down safely. Thanks for providing those.
