Death Row - Last Meal Requests
Last Meal
I'm going with a rack of babyback ribs, baked beans and corn on the cob.
What would you order?

I like this guy...
Jar of polish pickles, small wedge of cheese, tossed salad with Italian dressing, cheeseburger with mayo (all the way), large order of french fries with ketchup, relish tray, and a pitcher of grape juice
I want my tri-tip and mashed potatoes with green beens.

Sushi and Saki.
Green Globe, Escolar poppers, Volcano and some really smooth cold saki.
And you might as well throw in a side of Fugu. Like to see what all the fuss is about.Chere'

Who could eat knowing they were about to die? I have to agree with Kapitan......bring on the booze so I can knock myself out.

I actually found that list interesting. Comparing the requests to those who had no requests to those who refused their last meals. I decided that I too would be one of the people that ate WAY too much. That way I'd go into a food coma and then feel like I just never came out.

Alcohol is prohibited from the requests.... this is prison.
and I watched a documentary on this last meal deal once. It said almost all prisoners said they were not really hungry but nearly everyone of them finished their last meal.

For those of you who would drink until you were truly sloshed, when you woke up the next morning for your death, the hangover would make this a mercy killing.
Me, I'd go for fried squirrel with fresh smashed taters & squirrel gray. Hot d@mn that would be a fine last meal. Dang it... now I'm hungry... Stupid Utah with their lack of Fox Squirrels.

It was really a documentary on condemned men and what their thoughts and feeling were as the execution date and time approached. It was several years ago that I saw it and I can't remember the name. It's funny but the one part I remember like it was yesterday was the several minutes they spent talking about the last meal.... I don't remember hardly a thing about the religious aspect and do condemned men seek and accept god....
but I remember everything about the last meal. Guess that just shows how messed up my priorities are.

Remember last year when their was that execution of the founder of the Crips? (Tookie Williams). I remember reading an article about his execution where it mentioned the nurse had a really hard time finding his vein and the article painted him in a bad lightening for being upset with the nurse for not finding his veins sooner. I feel as though it is pretty darn easy to understand his frustration. If I were being put to death I would find it pretty difficult to be pleasant to my would be executor.

In my opinion they have it too good, lethal injection, last meal and all. If it was up to me they would do hard labor while awaiting their date with the executioner. And the fathers or husbands of the victims would have the option of dealing out the death penalty in a way they see fit. And no last freaking meals! Don't we have kids starving in the U.S.? Put those bastards on a diet instead of giving them last meals. That will make it easier for everyone, nurse included.

That was interesting. I found a couple requests kinda strange.
Rumbaugh Charles 555 09/11/1985 One flour tortilla and water
Maybe a religious ceremony? Like bread and wine that catholics do?Your safety is not my responsibility.

I guess I don't mind our system spending the extra 40 bucks on this person for their last meal when you consider that one of the main reasons they are being executed is for all the money they will save tax payers by being executed now instead of draining our prison system for 70 years.
I'm all for time being hard for people but for the most part people being executed is already pretty harsh. Providing them a decent meal at least can keep us in touch with our own humanity.
I don't know that I really believe anything I just typed...."My heart shall cry out for Moab..." Isaiah 15:5
