    Seven Mile Draw

For our second day of the Marble Canyon Fest organized by Todd Martin, Arizona Aaron and Rich Rudow, we headed down highway 89A to Seven Mile Draw, a north side Marble Canyon drainage located just a ways down from the Navajo bridge. Rich Rudow had recommended this canyon to us the day before.

We took another long lounge at rivers edge, the calm waters flow and warming sun enticing us to linger as long as possible.
As with Badger, one way to do this canyon is to leave a rope and ascend back up the canyon. Again we decided to do the loop version which required a quarter mile down river hike, a climb up a debris slope, a boulder strewn ridge hop, an up-climb past a pour off and final climb of the side-drainage. Stunning photos! I like the chute.

I revisited the bridges myself in December. My previous visit to Marble Canyon was in 1986, when there was only the one, so it was nice to see that they had preserved the architecture when designing the new one.

Fun pictures. Too bad that condor is tagged like that, or that picture would have been even better. I thought they used electronic tags now adays.

That way observers merely armed with binoculars can report on an individual. But, yes I believe they are also fitted with transponders.

I'm guessing when two odd numbers mate, they produce an even number?

Yes. But the prime numbered condors are infertile (no factors, you see).

    Tag Numbers

Here is a site that lists the Condors and their tags. It even has some courting behaviours listed for those fowl voyeurs out there.
