    OH MY GOODNESS!!!!!!!!!! This could have been double the tragedy. Remind me again if I ever say I want to go sky dive to not do it.

    Most countries require skydivers to have an AAD (Automatic Activation Device). It's a lifesaver. Basically it activates the reserve or emergency parachute should the skydiver fail to deploy the main parachute for whatever reason, and he or she is getting dangerously close to the ground at freefall speeds.
