    2008 Taxes / Stimulus

    Long story short....
If i claim I DID NOT receive a stimulus check my fed return is $2700.
If i claim I received a stimulus check my fed return is $900.

Funny part is that I copied this from the IRS website when I first heard about the stimulus ....

    Q. Will the payment I receive in 2008 reduce my 2008 refund or increase the amount I owe for 2008?

    A. No, the stimulus payment will not reduce your refund or increase the amount you owe when you file your 2008 return.

This has been removed from the IRS website.http://www.irs.gov/newsroom/article/0,,id =179181,00.html

So I did not owe anymore money due to the Stimulus Check but I am slightly upset (yet not that shocked) to find out the stimulus was just a loan.

I have finished my taxes, but didn't think to mess around with the stimulus part of it, but like you said it's no surprise.

Its still on the IRS website stating it will not reduce your refund or cause you to owe more.

    opps my bad
still sucks... I did'nt really need the stimulus check this summer. I feel as if I got the shaft because it DOES reduce your return because it was paid out earlier in the year.

I guess I can just blame Obama and get over it.

Everything that happened prior to Jan 20 is Clinton's fault.

Everything that happened afterward's is Obama's fault.

seen all good people turn their heads each day so satisfied I'm on my way...
