Removing spyware or real time protection?

MalwareBytes (free version is for removal only)
    Adaware
    Spybot

Best way to prevent spyware is not to download "free" screen savers/games and stay away from porn sites.

For removal malwarebytes & f-secure online scan (both free)

For preventive software bit-defender or zone alarm.

I would say SpyBot - Search and Destroy. Worked great for me.

I'd say, any one of those flashing banners telling you that you have a virus, and to perform a scan.

Wow you use all three. Hmmm

Spybot was the name I was looking for that is what is on my older computer but I couldn't remember the name. That poor computer has something very wrong with it. I am glad I have this one now.

    Thanks guys!

I don't know about MalwareBytes, guys. I just installed it, ran the full scan, and it came up with nothing. Not even one suspicious item. And I must admit to stumbling on to a porn site on occasion By mistake, of course.

That's why it's lowest on my "importance" list. Ad-Aware and Spybot seem to be all I need.

Porn sites are generally harmless unless you click on "YES" buttons - or "NO" buttons that actually mean "YES". Reading is fundamental.

And someone warned me about the above since I've never seen a porn site.

My kids caught some really nasty stuff on their computer (Antivirus 2009 virus if I remember correctly) about a month ago and MalwareBytes was the only thing at the time I could find that would remove it.... YMMV.

Before that dreadful day Spybot and Adaware had always done great.

You can go to www.tucows.com & get free downloads off there of whatever you need. I have had some very good freeware of their site & it is very safe to download from them, good luck!
