San Rafael Swell: Coal Canyon
Coal canyon in the Sids Mountain Wilderness Study Area is a wonderful place to be - as long as the wash does not shift the large amounts of sand available again. Then you may need some extra time.
But Slipper Arch is a destination worthwile some effort.

Huge!
Fix it-Pass
Fix it is easy for ATV`s but not that easy for SUVs.

We visited Coal canyon 3 times.
At first we came down from I 70 along Eva Conover Road, the second time from Ferron the same year. North fork was quite easy to do this time.
A year later thunderstorms hat relocated a lot of sand. In some places the trail was completely altered, much more difficult.
Manybe we have a chance to visit it again next year.
Merry Christmas!
