I have not been to see the Temple Square lights in a LONG time. I don't remember the nativity seen on the reflection pond. I really like that. Thanks for posting these pictures. I might try and take my family up there tomorrow. Wait, maybe tonight.

Me too. Last time I went was when the Trax opened in '99. I'm pretty sure that Temple Square would burst into flames if I stepped foot on it anyways.

But there is no better way to teach children about the humility of Christmas then by treating them to a multi-million dollar light display in the middle of a recession.

Been a long time for me too, but I'm pretty sure nothing would happen if I did visit.

I don't remember that manger scene on the water is that new?

I think the manger scene is fairly new, within the last few years. There are floating lights around the scene as well. Kids love it.
    The man thong is wrong.

Actually I noticed how much less lights and displays there were. I remember lights in every tree, but not this year. Maybe cutting back they are cutting back

Yeah, they're definitely cutting back. I think it used to be every tree, but I noticed at least 1/3 of them weren't lit up.

    James- Your comment was funny.

I remember hearing a couple of years ago that they were supposed to be trimming them back because of the good that could be done in the world with the money from those lights.

The selfless act of giving, you've nailed it on the head.

This is the one I took my kids to. We go every year it is very close to where I live.

It is pretty cool the entire show is synced with music. He has his own transmitter that broadcasts on FM 99.9

I know that I appreciate that I can go to Temple Square with my family and have a free night of fun, filled with the Christmas spirit.

So I choose to believe that James isn't actually bad mouthing the Church for using electricity during the recession but instead just making a good joke.
