    This is a pretty mellow hike and very epic at the same time. That is, if you do the out-back instead of the loop. I did the loop a few years ago and that was kinda brutal. Jackass pass is nothing compared to Texas pass on the other side.

    benlittle will probably respond but I'm pretty sure he started at Big Sandy Opening from looking at the pictures (it's also the standard spot to start). Starting at Elkhart Park would be a long trip! Big Sandy is probably less miles from Salt Lake, but involves a lot more dirt road so it takes about an hour longer to drive.

    I think one of the major reasons you should splurge for the nicer tents, is because of how cool they look in pictures like yours. Great TR!

    Wow, sorry to revive this old thread. I haven't been around in a while.

    Yes, we packed in everything accept the fish ;) Everything else is dehydrated but surprisingly good!!
