    2009 Sugar Bowl Predictions

Looks like the Utes bowl winning streak comes to an end here pretty soon.

I think 'Bama is too high a seed for the Utes. I would've liked to see them play Ohio State in the Fiesta Bowl.

    'Bama 38

    Utah 17

I've made it pretty clear that I'm not a Ute fan, but as a Dolphins fan I can't stand Nick Saban either.

We all know that anything can happen during a game, but I think Alabama will be the winner.

    'Bama - 31

    UT - 10

The Utes spread offense (installed by Meyer) will give the bama defense the same trouble that Florida did and the Utah defense will hold their own.

    Utah 27 Alabama 24.

Thanks for getting the thread back on track. I was wondering how the Sugar Bowl thread got turned into the "Troy Polumalu fan club."

I think you're right about the Utes defense. But Alabama's defense is pretty darned good, and of course it doesn't help that the game will be played in Alabama's backyard, where over 90% of the fans in attendance will be cheering for the Crimson Tide.

Come on now... Utah couldn't even put up 27 against the likes of UNM. Andy Ludwig took all the magic out of that offense long ago. Your defense hopefully keeps you in it.

    Bama 24, Utah 10

Whoever is going, make sure to visit Marie Laveau's tomb (voodoo queen of New Orleans) as soon as you get there, make an "X" on it and then make a wish for 'Bama to lose. It snowed in New Orleans last week.....maybe that's a good omen for Utah!

I can't imagine the game will be close, but I guess we'll see.

    Bama 71

    Utes 3

Not really, I would love to see the Utes win, I am a BYUTE fan so hopefully they don't get blown out. either way it is a lose lose situation from the media perspective, if utah wins they are going to say that bama didn' take it serious and it was a fluke. If Bama wins it will jsut be the HI of last year and everyone is going to get sick of the at large bids.

    Bama 34

    Utah 24

    Yup...I gotta agree.

TruUte from our FF league is making the 20 hour drive to New Orleans to watch the carnage. I'm so jealous.

Here's hoping they don't stink it up like the 'Bows did last year.

Damn 20 hour drive, he must be crazy...There are some great deals on flights right now that I hope he checked out, that 40 hours of driving in which the last 20 hours may have you thinking that you could have watched it from home and been pissed off with the outcome and not have to drive home. That is dedication there!!

Speaking as an Ohio State fan, I would have much rather had the Buckeyes play the Utes and Texas play Bama. But what do you do?

    Who needs to eat CROW?!?!?!?

    UTES WIN 31-17!!!

  19. #18
WOW! I really thought that the U had no chance at all and they looked great! Now I really wish that Boise State had won, so we could have 2 undefeated teams not be national champions.

That was the best football game I have watched since the BYU-Utah game in 2006.

The Utes deserve a national championship. What more can be said? Utah, hat's off to ya!

    mmmmmmmm....crowwwwwwwww......

I'll happily eat my words. Awesome game!!! The Utes are finally getting the respect they deserve.
