Spanish Petroglyphs?

We went out for a quick hike today because the weather was so fantastic. We visited some petroglyphs that are near the old Spanish Trail.

I agree they don't look indian. Happen to have coordinates?

Here are some photos I took of some Spanish petroglyphs. Notice the date (1620 and 1692) They were actually taken just outside Utah, but since it wasn't that far away, I wonder if at least some of the Spanish actually traveled into Utah before the late 1700's? To me, it seems probable since there is evidence of them not that far away.

No, they are north of Monticello in a tributary to Harts Draw.

very cool. if they are not spanish then most probably southern ute would be my guess.

We are so lucky! What a fantastic place to live and discover new things.
Nice find! I found some petros out along the hills near Silver Reef.
Called the forest dept, they put me on to some archeologist in Cedar City who never returned my calls. hehe Oh well. I tried.
Never seen a horse or anything like these ones you posted. I did see a
bear south of Colorado city in the deep cut washes. Way cool.

Spanish, definitely Spanish. It appears as if they stylized the body of the horse like Navajo horses, but the eyes, ears, and legs are definitely not Navajo. As for Oldno7's petroglyphs they appear to be Ute.

I actually consulted an expert at the local college and he says they (as in the petros I posted originally) are definitely Ute.
