"Once again, political leaders in the Bush administration have ignored the preferences of the American public by succumbing to political pressure, in this case generated by the National Rifle Association," said Bill Wade, president of the Coalition of National Park Service Retirees.
Could have fooled me, looks just the opposite from my side of the table.

which of the "precious resources of the National Park System at risk" are they refering to?

also, i did not know there was a prohibition on firearms in wildlife refuges in the first place. i have done some great hunting in wildlife refuges.

really, this is ridiculous. the people who the article is refering too as being able to carry in a park are already licensed to concealed carry. which means they have gone through a thorough background check (not convicted felons), fingerprinted, and state required training. i don't see them as much of a threat or any risk.

if someone wanted to blast one of jellystones bears i doubt they would used a licensed concealed carry handgun. it would most likely be unlicensed joe redneck and a sixpack plinking and hitting one by accident or not. and his actions would be as illegal now as they were before.

sorry joe, didn't really mean to single you out.
But if I agreed with you, we would both be wrong.

I don't know, but around here in areas close to roads lots of people target shoot and leave shells, shot up plates, clay objects etc. Maybe that's what they could be talking about, but I don't think anyone would do that kind of thing in a national park.

Yeah, I'm not too concerned about finding bullet holes in the rock walls.

As for Bush ignoring the public's demands? Please...

Why would you want to do such a retarded thing? I just don't get it?
    A) You WILL be apprehended.
    B) You WILL be at least fined, maybe some jail time.
    C) You WILL lose your carry permit.
    D) Most likely you will forfeit your right to ever own a firearm again.

Yes I am aware you are just being a dick, I was just pointing out how much of a dick, but you knew that.
