I have been dreaming about a new deer hunting rifle for a few years now. I knew I wanted a Remington Model seven but I have been studying calibers for some time with no real favorite. Remington made up my mind when they released a 25th anniversary addition of the Model seven chambered in 7MM08.


Then I went looking at scopes and decided on the Leupold VX-L, it has a cut out under the front objective so it can be mounted closer to the gun, 50mm objective that mounts as low as a 40mm. I built a hundred rounds with nossler ballistic tips that will fly at nearly 3000fps, can hardly wait to shoot it, maybe this weekend

Just to compare, this is the new rifle above the rifle I have been using, a model 700BDL.

That's a good looking gun, but then what gun isn't.
