Theme for my website
Help me out here guys n gals. I've got www.justinmcfarland.com up and running, I'm just having a really hard time deciding on a "purpose" for it.
I've already got a Tech blog at http://blog.weber.k12.ut.us/jumcfarland
And bogley is where I spend most of my time regarding outdoor stuff. EDIT... ALL of my time
I'm thinking maybe family and personal stuff? If that's the case, you jerks will all be blocked from viewing it.
What do you guys think I should use my other site for? I'd like it to be active with some kind of content every day, I'm just having a difficult time deciding what to go with.
I'd like to be consistent to, rather than some random blabbing ranting and raving...... like my animated gifs.

Usually people decide what they need their own website for before they buy it...
I guess you really only have only one option. Porn.

I actually bought the domain a couple of years ago. It's good to have it, you know, when I become famous. But I've lost my purpose....

I'd say go for a bunch of random personal stuff. Like a blog for your garden harvests. grapes, sunflowers, etc. I found those particularly interesting. I'm going to try hydroponic lettuce this year and we can compare notes. You already helped a lot on my grapes. Then maybe some of your musical performances at the school, oh and that dry ice bomb. Heck, I even enjoy all the shots of your kid. mine is that same age and doing the exact same things. That time you posted the "tossing him on the bed vid" I was laughing so hard cause I was doing that not 10 minutes before I saw you guys. You could fill it up with content like that and I would bookmark it for sure.
Then you could pull a play from Richards book and post here "I did this and this, check out my blog though to get the full story and pictures, here is the link". Bam! Easy money.

Isn't bogley your blog? It is for everybody else. Blogs are seriously overrated. They never last long for most people. I have a food blog. I have kept it going for a little while, but not consistently and I love food!

I've actually thought of trying some stand up comedy.
...because I'm hilarious.
I may build up a little library of 2 minute bits or something, and post them there. I'm not sure.
I could do the family thing, but that's just lame.

Justin, that is a scary pic!!! LOL!
Your boy is so adorable.
Hey I am sending girl cooties your way, you all need a little girl with blond curls.
Thats it!! You should blog about the one on the way. Things dads thinks about when mom is expecting. Ok maybe that is a lame idea, but there is nothing like the daddy perspective. Really you could go anywhere with that from all the good things to all the other things too. LOL! Every married guy has had to put up with an expectant mother if they have kids.Chere'

move your tech blog over to your domain name because maybe you won't always be with the weber school district. also your tech blog is not very SE friendly
OR
keep them split and have your domain as family stuff. set it up so you can lock it. Public for some stuff but need a password or account to view the private stuff. so that way you can give out the password to close friends and relatives.
Cheers,
Dave.

sell merkins. You could also post pics of your product in the "show your critter" thread. Hopefully you won't be the model though. No offense, I just don't swing like that.

Thanks everybody, I think I've got it mostly figured out. I found a configuration that I liked, it still needs a touch of work, but I'm sticking with it.
I'll have a section for my family stuff, then my wife's blog, and yadda yadda yadda.
Most importantly, I put a big FAT link back to Bogley.
www.justinmcfarland.com
Why a blog? Well, most of my family goes to bogley.com and they get all confused... "I don't know how to work those things"
So anyways, maybe I can give them second hand bogley blogging by leading them there.
